The cave of Friouato

In Morocco, the limestone formations and massifs outcrop on about 100,000 km2 and contain a large number of caves, chasms and underground networks. The best known cavity is Friouato about 27 km south of Taza,
the Friouato Chasm in Tazekka National Park,
It is one of the deepest caves in the world with more than 3.5 km of depth with a network of rooms and galleries shaped in the karst formations of the Middle Atlas limestones.

The first stop, after the descent of a long staircase (702 steps), is a real showroom of all kinds of stalactites, stalagmites and various concretions.
