the Mines of Mibladen Ahouli



The Province of Midelt is an area with a geological and mining reputation, and in the near future it will also become an energy province par excellence, all of the mineral wealth that the province conceals are encased in lands attributed to the structural domain of the highlands. Central Atlas whose geological formations are predominantly Mesozoic;
Ahouli is a mining village in Morocco. Formerly one of the largest lead deposits in Morocco, the neighboring mines of Ahouli and Mibladen are now abandoned. The village is located 25 kilometers from Midelt. For over ten years, illegal miners, more than 45,000 men and women, permanently 3,500, rush every day in its galleries at the risk of their lives1.
